Hi April, you can eat them in your smoothies and even bake with them, but take care, since if you wait with drinking a smoothie while it contains chia, after appr. 15 minutes it will be like a gelly pudding. I use twoo large spoons a day.

It's really important to look up the health concerns and negative side effects of chia before jumping on this food trend. There are a lot of people who can't or shouldn't eat them. Approach with caution

Was introduced to them recently by a friend who spent time in Mexico-a tablespoon in a jug of water with grated lime rind & juice of a lime-maybe some ice-can be kept in the fridge & topped up with water. Delicious! Stir before drinking to spread the chia. Fantastic food to discover as a long-term vegan. Also I hear it's a good food for combatting water-retention / belly fat.
