7 Best Breakfast Foods That Boost Your Metabolism ...

Think of breakfast as the keys to an engine, and make sure to eat certain breakfast foods that boost your metabolism to start that engine off the right way! Your metabolism is your body’s engine and it either helps your body run long and steady, or not. You an either be fueled for your day and ready to go, energized and balanced, or you can be sluggish, tired, hungry and anxious from erratic hormones. The easiest and best thing to do for your body is to eat for your metabolism, starting with breakfast, which is the first amount of fuel you put in that engine each day. You truly can unlock a magical power that helps your metabolism burn fat for you, not store it, and keep you energized and in a good mood all day long. Choose these breakfast foods that boost your metabolism, and leave the high sugar cereals where they belong: on the shelves at the grocery store, not in your cabinets or your bowls.

Eggs

Eggs Hands down, one of the best breakfast foods that boost your metabolism that you can eat is eggs. Eggs ensure your body is getting the right amount of protein, omega 3 fats, healthy B vitamins, and essential amino acids. Eggs also have iron, which the metabolism needs to function at its best. Multiple studies have shown the chromium found in eggs, which is an important mineral your body needs for blood sugar regulation, helps keep people fuller longer and blood sugar more stable than other breakfast foods.

2

Oats

Oats Oats are one of the best sources of carbs to eat early in the day that won’t spike your glycemic index. Oats have a little protein, just a little bit of fat, and plenty of heart healthy carbs to keep you full, satisfied and nourished throughout the day. They are also filled with fiber, which helps regulate blood sugar and prevent insulin surges that wreck your metabolism too. Eat oats with some flaxseed for essential fats, or berries or bananas for a good fruit choice. You can also pair it with yogurt, nuts, or even a little protein powder if you need an extra boost.

Green Smoothies

Green Smoothies Green smoothies are excellent for your metabolism. First, they keep your blood sugar stable due to the high level of chromium and fiber found in greens, and secondly, they promote lean body mass. Greens are also alkaline, which keeps your metabolism healthy. When the body is acidic, not only does inflammation occur, but metabolism slows down. Greens are also filled with chlorophyll that cleanses your body and keeps your cells nourished to ensure a healthy metabolism. Put some spinach in your blender with protein powder, a few berries, some stevia, unsweetened almond milk, and either protein powder or yogurt for extra protein. Then, just add some ice and blend!

4

Berries

Berries Berries are a great breakfast food for a few reasons. First, fruit is best eaten in the morning on an empty stomach for easiest digestion and the fiber in berries will help keep your blood sugar stable, which is important for a healthy metabolism. Secondly, berries are rich in antioxidants the metabolism needs to do its job the best way possible. Pair berries with yogurt, flaxseeds and some nuts for a nourishing breakfast parfait, or put some in an oatmeal or a smoothie as directed above.

5

Protein Shakes

Protein Shakes While whole foods are better than shakes, protein shakes are actually great for your metabolism if you have busy mornings. To make a healthy protein shake, avoid overly processed powders like whey and soy, and go with a raw, vegan plant protein one for essential amino acids, anitoxidants, fiber and other nutrients your metabolism needs. I like Garden of Life Raw Protein and Sunwarrior Raw Warrior Blend. Blend with ice, some yogurt or almond butter, or both, and head on about your morning, primed and ready to go!

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Ezekiel Bread

Ezekiel Bread Have you heard of Ezekial bread? This bread contains sprouted grains and is a wonderful source of unprocessed grains and protein. The grains are actually living, so you obtain the nutrients better and much more efficiently than from breads on the shelf. You’ll find Ezekiel bread in the frozen food section.. Just leave it in your fridge for the week to thaw, and either toast some each morning with some avocado or yogurt on top, and a sprinkle of berries with flax, or leave it plain and smear on some almond butter with fresh berries for a morning sandwich. While I like to keep bread to a minimum, Ezekiel bread is a great choice if you’re a toast and bread kind of person. it also pairs great with eggs.

7

Avocado

Avocado Avocados are rich in mono-unsaturated fats, B vitamins, protein, fiber and chromium. They are also alkaline and prevent stress. Since they contain healthy fats, they help keep you fuller longer and promote satiety. Their nutrient composition spurs your metabolism to run high and steady all morning long. You can put about ¼ avocado on Ezekiel toast, in a smoothie for a creamy taste, with your eggs, or however else you enjoy it.

Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. I get tired of hearing it just as much as you probably do, but breakfast is my favorite meal! After fasting all night, your body needs fuel to start that engine and make it work for you, not against you. What’s your favorite breakfast food for all day energy?

Very nice

Good information

My favorite breakfast is Ezekiel bread or a matzo (yes yes I know its white) cracker spread with half a mashed avocado and sprinkled with chia seeds. Good list, I am most hungry in the morning probably because I eat so lightly for dinner.

Whey isolate will actually do a better job increasing your metabolism... But I do not suggest it being the only thing for your breakfast even with yogurt.. As a child we were all told breakfast is the most important meal.. An hour later you will be hungry cause your not eating enough... I usually have one along with a fiber cereal.. Or something with peanuts

I like how you used the word... Overly processed protein powders like whey... NOT ALL ISOLATE WHEY PROTEIN POWDERS ARE... I've been using them for 10 years and I'm in great shape. You can't use all.. Cause you don't know.

Love green smoothies! So good and healthy. Just have to know which combinations you like because there's so many options

Thanks for the tip

Thank you what a good article!
