1. Candy Corn
Ah, yes. Good ol' candy corn. It's been a favorite since, well, forever! It's a halloween candy that not only symbolizes halloween, but fall in general. Candy corn is sure to be found at nearly every fall festival, hayride, carnival and bonfire. And if you don't like to eat it? Candy corn makes one super cute fall decoration if you pour it into clear glass containers!
2. Dum Dum Pops
We all have fond memories of receiving dum dum pops for being a good kid at the dentist or the doctors office don't we? I know I sure do! And they remain to be a fave to this day. I love the variety of flavors they come in, and they are always a hit with little kids so I carry a few in my purse for my siblings and little cousins and babysitting charges.
Frequently asked questions
3. Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins
One Halloween candy I could eat my weight in is Reese's Peanut butter pumpkins! Peanut butter is yummy enough but when you mix it with chocolate and form it into a darling little pumpkin shape it suddenly holds more appeal. I always stock up on these little babies when they go on sale and at the end of the season because I have to build up a supply till next year!
4. Jawbreakers
Do you remember the huge jawbreakers they used to make that would take months to finish? I used to love those things! But the regular sized ones are fun too, especially the ones that change flavors as they change colors. Jawbreakers are one of the halloween candies I will never grow tired of!
5. Pop Rocks
Halloween candy that fizzles and sputters as you eat it? Yes please! Pop rocks are bound to be a hit with any child-and most adults too! When I was younger, I could put these things away like no one's business! I can still make a good sized dent in my own little supply if you want to know the truth.
6. Sour Gummy Worms
I've always been a fan of gummy candies, but one of my all-time favorites is sour gummy worms! This halloween candy can always brighten my day! You should definitely pick up a few bags to munch on and enjoy yourself! If you decide that sour gummy worms are not the halloween candy for you, then you can always hand them out to kids who come along to trick-or-treat!
7. Mr. Goodbar
My grandfather tells me he can remember when Mr. Goodbars were only ten cents apiece. Well, I'd love to still have that steal of a price, but Mr. Goodbar is yummy enough to fork over the full price, wouldn't you agree? Chocolate and nuts, no bells and whistles. It's so simple, yet delightful and yummy!
8. Caramel Apples
Caramel apples are the traditional and expected Halloween Candy that we've all grown the love and savor. When I was 12, I had braces put on and for two whole years I got to watch in envy as my friends and family smacked their lips on those delish treats. Now I can have my fill, and trust me when I say I do!
Halloween Candy is one of those subjects we could go on and on about (and eat by the gallons) but these are just a few of my personal favorites. Homemade halloween candy is a big hit if you like to bake! What are a few of your favorite halloween candy treats?
