Iced tea recipes are something I always love to stumble across. That’s because it’s my go-to drink and I sip it all day long. It doesn’t have a ton of caffeine like coffee and I leave the sugar out so it’s calorie and fat-free. If you want to indulge in a glass of iced tea, you’ve come to the right place. This one just sounds fancy, right? The mixture of flavors is surprisingly refreshing and super delicious. This is one of the best iced tea recipes to serve at a backyard barbecue so make a lot of it.
4 black tea bags
4 sliced nectarines
1/3 cup sugar
5 to 10 basil leaves
Steep the tea for 5 minutes in 8 cups of water. Throw away the tea bags. Meanwhile, boil the nectarines and sugar in 1 cup of water. Reserve ¼ of the fruit. Simmer for 10 minutes, then add the basil leaves and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Remove the basil and throw away. Combine the nectarine mixture and the tea and chill.
This is a type of tea I wouldn’t drink all the time because it does have a lot of sugar, but it sure quenches your thirst on a hot summer day. This is the perfect recipe for kids too!
3 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, crushed
1 quart boiling water
½ cup iced tea powder
1 cup sugar
2 quarts cold water
6 ounces frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
Combine the mint, boiling water, iced tea powder and sugar in a large pitcher. Stir until the sugar dissolves then allow to sit for 15 minutes. Add the cold water and the lemonade and stir well. Serve over ice.
This recipes just sounds so delicious that it’s hard not to head into the kitchen and whip up a batch right now. The combination of tea and juice is a great way to cool off in the heat of summer.
¼ cup loose hibiscus tea
4 cups boiling water
1 cup pomegranate juice
4 cups cold water
Lemon, for garnish
Steep the tea in the boiling water for about 5 minutes. Strain and pour into a large pitcher. Add the juice and cold water, stir and chill. Serve with lemon wedges.
This recipe is courtesy of Martha Stewart so you know it’s good. The combination of rhubarb water gives you a really yummy flavor as well as a great color without having to use any tea bags. You’ll never be sorry after a glass of this sweet tea.
8 stalks rhubarb, cut into 3 inch pieces
8 cups water
1/3 cup sugar
Boil the rhubarb in the water, then simmer for one hour. Strain, add the sugar and stir until it’s dissolved. Serve with mint.
I absolutely love chai! It’s great as a hot drink on a cold winter day, but icing it makes it the best choice for cooling off in the summertime. The unique flavors are delicious and this one is totally kid friendly.
4 chai tea bags
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
Boil 4 cups of water in a large saucepan. Turn off the heat and add the tea bags. Steep for 10 minutes, remove the tea bags and cool. Pour the tea into glasses over ice, adding about 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk to the glass.
Mango is a yummy tropical treat that tastes great mixed with tea. You’ll be a believer once you taste this delicious iced tea.
1 cup brewed green tea
2 cups mango nectar
Mix the mango nectar and the tea together in a large pitcher. Pour over ice and garnish with mint and mango slices.
If you’re looking for something different, this is the recipe for you. It’s made with a less common type of tea, but it still has a yummy flavor you’re going to love. The presentation makes it look like something you’d find at a fancy coffee shop.
2/3 cup Thai tea leaves
1 2/3 cup water, boiled
3 tablespoons sugar
Put the tea leaves in a large bowl and add the water. Steep for 5 minutes. In another bowl, place the sugar and strain the tea into the sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Pour the tea over ice in a tall glass and top with about 2 tablespoons of the evaporated milk.
