I hate camping, but I love campfires – and campfire treats! Thank goodness for fire pits! That's one of the reasons why I love summer and fall so much. There's nothing like gathering around a fire to watch the sunset and cozy up as it gets dark. Now, don't get me wrong, I love all the classic campfire treats – s'mores, hot dogs, roasted corn, sausages, and things like that. You can make so many other things right over the fire, though. I mean, you can get pretty fancy – or you can keep it simple, rustic, and tasty, it's all up to you!

Campfire French Bread Pizza

This even puts grilled pizza to shame! Pizza is easy-ish to make on its own, but French bread pizza is practically effortless, not to mention delicious. Cooked over the fire, it's even tastier. You get just a hint of smoky, woody flavor, which seriously enhances all the other ingredients. Speaking of which, you can pile your pizza with whatever toppings you like best. Go nuts!

UPD:

When it comes to summertime campfire cooking, French Bread Pizza is a delicious and effortless meal that is sure to satisfy. This pizza is made with French bread as the base, and topped with whatever ingredients you like. It's then cooked over the fire, giving it a unique smoky, woody flavor.

This pizza is a great way to feed a crowd, as it's easy to customize for everyone's individual tastes. The bread can be topped with traditional pizza toppings like cheese, pepperoni, and vegetables. It can also be jazzed up with more unique ingredients like pineapple, jalapenos, and prosciutto.

The French Bread Pizza is also a great way to use up leftovers. If you have some cooked chicken, steak, or other proteins, you can chop them up and add them to the pizza. You can also add some cooked potatoes, onions, peppers, and other vegetables.

The pizza is cooked over the fire, so you'll need to make sure that you have a good fire going. You'll also need to have a few long-handled utensils like tongs or a spatula to flip the pizza and move it around the fire.

Campfire Potatoes

This one is pretty simple, but some people don't know how easy it is to roast potatoes over an open fire. You may never want to eat baked potatoes any other way. Then again, pretty much everything tastes better when you cook it outside.

3

Hungarian Goulash

Want to get sophisticated without getting complicated? This goulash is so good, but the recipe itself is easy as can be! Of course, you might want to eat this meal at the nearest picnic table, but again, all that wood smoke really does something for the flavor.

Breakfast Burrito

Lyndsie's dad used to make bacon and eggs over the campfire when their family went camping. This is kind of like that, but even better. Who knew you could make a burrito over a fire, let alone a breakfast burrito? I don't know, I might have to consider a very short camping trip just to justify making these for breakfast!

Campfire Breakfast Casserole

Or this! There are actually so many campfire recipes devoted to breakfast! This one is perfect if you're camping with a big group. Of course, you can easily make a smaller batch if you need to. Either way, I bet it's a filling breakfast.

Campfire Gravy and Biscuits

Wow, biscuits over the campfire! And gravy, too! Lyndsie would love this – and even I have to admit, they look pretty tasty! Has anyone ever done this, though? I think I'd definitely have to do frozen biscuits. I mean, can you imagine cooking scratch biscuits over an open fire? And the gravy! That's hard to make on a regular stove top, sometimes. I'm impressed!

Four Recipes in One

This video has not one but four fantastic campfire recipes! First off, there's a recipe for “lazy noodles,” which is basically just taking Ramen and doing whatever you want to with it. You can get pretty fancy with Ramen, even when you're cooking over a fire. You'll learn about bannock, an old staple in Native American diets. The video also has a great recipe for chocolate-stuffed bananas, just in case you want dessert!

'Fess up, Stalkers! What are your favorite campfire recipes?
