Slice up some carrots, broccoli, tomatoes and celery sticks for a refreshing and healthy snack. If you want to add a little flavor create your own dip with greek yogurt and minced onion or scallion. This is a healthy swap for French onion dip. This is an easy way to add veggies into your day.
4 Make Salad the Main Meal
One of the easiest and healthiest things you can do to get plenty of greens in for the day is make salad the main dish of every meal. My children used to not like salad until I stressed the nutritional benefits and explained each ingredient and now they love their salad ingredients. Keep your focus on the main dish and enjoy all the health benefits it will provide for you.
5 Make Veggies the Star of Every Meal
If I am creating a stir fry, I make the veggies the main attraction and if I add chicken, this is in a minimal amount. If you make veggies the star of every meal, you will enjoy the flavors more and learn to love them.
6 Have a Lettuce Veggie Wrap
Create some veggie wraps as a snack so you can satisfy your appetite and your nutritional needs. Take bib lettuce and stuff with cooked mushrooms, minced onions, carrots, cubed eggplant and tomatoes. Serve the veggies warm wrapped in cold bib lettuce. Veggies wraps rock because they taste great and it is an easy and effective way to add veggies into your daily eating!
7 Serve a Veggie Platter for Your Entertaining
Embodying a healthy lifestyle is amazing, but you have to live, eat, breathe and sleep health to make it a total healthy change so why not do so in social settings as well. Serve your guests a veggie platter for noshing, onion sautéed veggies with their entrée and a veggie pie for dessert. These are all easy ways to add more veggies into your day!
