Keep Fresh Food on Hand

I have learned that one of the easiest ways to clean up your diet, no matter the time of year, is by keeping fresh food on hand. When you don’t have your favorite fresh food on hand, it’s much easier to just grab for your favorite junk food rather than searching for something you’d somewhat enjoy. Cleaning up your diet doesn’t necessarily mean giving up the food you love, and keeping fresh food on hand will help you do just that!

2

Keep Hydrated

I recently read that we should drink half of our weight (in pounds) in water (ounces) everyday. So for instance, if you weigh 130 pounds, aim to drink 65 ounces of water each day. I know that that’s extremely difficult for me to keep up on, yet when I do, my body thanks me, and yours will too. Your skin will glow, your metabolism will speed up, and you’ll start to cleanse your body of all of the toxins that are making you feel horrible!

3

Think about What’s Going in Your Body

Whenever I find myself tempted to indulge in something that’s really not worth it, I think about what’s going into my body. Do I want to put this into me? Is this really helping my body thrive? If the answer is no, re-think your options.

4

Pay Attention to Labels

Reading labels is so important, especially today, when anything goes and everyone loves organic. So many companies label their products as organic or all natural, however, be wary. Read the ingredient lists diligently. If they include ingredients you can’t pronounce, they’re probably not all natural or organic.

5

Don’t Just Count Calories

Whether you’re on a diet or simply trying to feel better, it can be easy to think that the best route to go is by counting calories. However, counting calories can actually be the downfall of healthy eating; remember, one calorie of sugar is totally different than one calorie of protein or fiber when you're trying to clean up your diet. Focus on the nutrients you’re getting from your food, rather than how many calories are in them. If you’re looking to lose weight or even just want to feel better, focusing on the nutrients rather than the calories is the safest and healthiest way to go about doing so.

Keep Bananas on Hand

I’ve recently learned that bananas are the Holy Grail when it comes to healthy eating. They can be used as a replacement in some of your favorite, less healthy dishes, and they’re also a really great and easy snack! No matter what you use them for, you’ll love knowing you always have bananas on hand in a pinch!

Give Yourself a Break

Cut yourself some slack. Have the burger if you’ve been waiting all year to try. Try the cupcake. Don’t get angry with yourself if you slip up, you’re human. Forgive yourself and try again tomorrow. It can be easy to want to give up when you make a mistake, but don’t let yourself!

How do you try to clean up your diet? I’m always looking for new tips, so let me know what you do in the comments!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

It'sokay to have banana since it 's a digestion-friendly fruit. The sugar in it won't do no harm. Nevergheless, it help regulate the digestive process.

What is the best diet to do

I weigh 47kg , so I only have to drink a bit more than half a litre of water daily? Doesn't seem very accurate. Can someone please inform on this? Thank you

Bananas are definitely NOT the best fruit around as they are mostly sugar.
