7 Healthy Energizing Foods That Will Keep You Going All Day Long ...

Regularly consuming energizing foods will have you feeling amazing in no time. Believe it or not, your diet can actually play a huge role in your energy levels and their stability. If you’ve ever noticed how your energy is drained at a certain time every day, it’s time to look at your diet. Eating an excess amount of refined sugar, refined carbohydrates, and processed foods can drain your energy by temporarily lifting your energy levels, leaving them to decline later. That, and foods that are difficult to digest (most processed foods) will make your energy be used for digestion, so you will have less energy to do other activities. That is why it’s crucial to regularly eat energizing foods - so that you can have lasting energy for the entire day, and without any crashes.

1

Bananas

Bananas You probably have heard that bananas are one of the best energizing foods, and that’s because they are! They are packed with carbohydrates and natural sugars that give you an instant energy boost. Unlike refined sugar and processed carbohydrates, however, this sugar from fruit will not cause the same rapid rise in glucose levels; instead, it will produce a steady and more gradual rise. Bananas also contain a lot of fiber that helps keep your energy levels stable, thus preventing a later energy crash. I like eating them plain before I run, or in smoothies, but they also make a good “soft serve” ice cream when frozen and blended up.

2

Avocados

Avocados Avocados are great for boosting energy because they are not converted into fat. That is because they are rich in monosaturated fats that are used for energy instead of being stored as unhealthy fats. Avocados are rich in b-vitamins, and these vitamins are essential for increasing your energy. They are also rich in fiber, which means you will have lasting energy. I like adding avocado to salads, soups, and even smoothies for a creamy texture.

3

Dates

Dates A slightly underrated food because of their sugar content, dates make a great source of energy. Again, the sugar in dates is different than the processed sugar found in soda and candy. It will not give you such a spike in glucose levels, and dates contain a lot of fiber to make the energy last. That makes dates a great candidate for giving you an increased boost in energy - I know I always feel a huge energy boost after eating dates! I like eating dried medjool dates during my long runs for a healthy fueling alternative. However, you can use dates to make homemade energy bars or as a sweetener alternative to processed sugar.

4

Spinach

Spinach Eating foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals, and nutrients will surely increase your energy. That is because a symptom of many vitamin deficiencies is fatigue. Luckily, spinach contains so many different vitamins and minerals that you will get rid of a lot of possible deficiencies. Dark leafy greens like spinach and kale also contain the important electrolytes potassium and magnesium. These electrolytes work together to increase your energy levels by aiding the production of energy in your body. Spinach is also rich in b-vitamins, and as I said these increase your energy levels significantly. You can use spinach in salads, soups, green juice, or green smoothies. If you have never had a green juice before, it is like a shot of straight energy because the nutrients are so compact - I highly recommend it!

Raw Almonds

Raw Almonds The protein, fiber, and healthy fats found in almonds are great for providing your body with sustainable energy. Almonds are rich in many vitamins and minerals that help prevent vitamin deficiencies that may be causing your fatigue. They also contain the amino acid tryptophan, which means they help relax your body. It will help get rid of your mental fatigue, such as that drained feeling you get after a stressful situation. Make sure your almonds are raw, so that there are no added oils or salt, and so you don’t get any of the nutrients destroyed by heat. Almonds are good plain, added to smoothies or sauces to make them creamy, or sliced and added to salads.

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Oranges

Oranges Just the act of peeling an orange and smelling the scent of it makes me feel energized. Not only that, but it makes me feel happier. You can get even more benefits by consuming the orange, as it is rich in antioxidants. The antioxidants and orange pigments found in oranges act as natural energy boosters to your body by supplying it with an abundant amount of nutrients. This gives you less of a chance for fatigue due to energy deficiencies, and oranges also contain fiber to last you. I like eating oranges before working out to hydrate myself and give myself a natural energy boost.

7

Watermelon

Watermelon A little known fact about watermelon is that they contain b-vitamins. I’ve already stated how powerful b-vitamins are for increasing your energy, and now you can get them simply by eating watermelon! It also is rich in the electrolyte potassium, which is important to get enough of so that you don’t get fatigue as a deficiency symptom. Watermelon should be consumed on an empty stomach for proper digestion. You can eat it plain, juice it and drink a glass of iced watermelon juice, or puree it and freeze for popsicles.

Try adding these real, whole foods to your diet if you want to see an increase in your energy and your health. Also, limiting your intake of processed foods and refined sugar will increase your energy levels dramatically. You don’t have to cut out these foods for good (everything in moderation!), but it is something to consider if you want more energy. What food do you notice gives you tons of energy after you eat it?
