The thing I love most about homemade salad dressings is that you can control the ingredients, so they taste great and are much healthier than those bottled ones at the grocery store. They might not keep as long, but they add just the right flavor to your salad. You can even use some of them to marinate chicken or steak before you grill it. Mango Lime Dressing
There’s something perfect about the combination of mango and lime, which makes them great ingredients for a tasty dressing. This is one of my favorite homemade salad dressings and it tastes really great on a fresh salad in the heat of the summer.
Ingredients:
1 mango, peeled and chopped
Juice of 1 lime
Zest of 1 lime
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
¼ cup rice vinegar
½ cup vegetable oil
Directions:
Place the mango, lime juice, lime zest, mustard, sugar and salt in the blender and puree until smooth. Gradually add the vinegar and oil and blend until well combined.

Japanese Salad Dressing
This is the perfect dressing for a cucumber or cabbage salad with flavors of Oriental restaurants. It’s easy to toss together and will taste so great that you’ll be making it by the gallon.
Ingredients:
½ cup onion, minced
½ cup peanut oil
1/3 cup rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons ginger, minced
2 tablespoons celery, minced
2 tablespoons ketchup
4 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons white sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
½ teaspoon garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
Blend all the ingredients in the blender on high speed until well combined and pureed.

Coconut Cream
This is a great dressing for your regular vegetable salads, but you can also use it as a simple sauce for seafood. It has a pleasing fruity taste that you won’t be able to find on the salad dressing aisle at the grocery store.
Ingredients:
1 can cream of coconut
¼ cup cider vinegar
1 package dry Italian salad dressing mix
Directions:
Stir the ingredients together in a bowl and chill before serving.

Chile Garlic Vinaigrette
This chile garlic dressing is the perfect complement to crisp vegetables, but it also tastes really yummy drizzled over steamed vegetables or grilled chicken. You'll love the versatility, and it's so easy to make.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon Serrano chile, chopped
¾ teaspoon salt
6 crushed garlic cloves
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
1 ½ tablespoons anchovy paste
Directions:
Mash the chile, salt and garlic in a mortar. Transfer to a bowl and combine with the vinegar, water, lemon juice, oil and anchovy paste. Stir well.

Creamy Cilantro Avocado
This is the perfect dressing to drizzle over an avocado and tomato salad, but I love it on fish tacos too. It’s a unique way to flavor coleslaw as well. I guarantee this one will have everyone talking.
Ingredients:
½ avocado
¾ cup fresh cilantro, packed
½ cup fat free plain yogurt
2 chopped scallions
1 clove garlic, cut into quarters
1 tablespoon lime juice
½ teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon salt

Sweet and Sour Bacon Vinaigrette
It has bacon in it, so this is a winner in my book. This yummy dressing tastes great over a spinach salad. You’re going to want to eat it all the time, so keep it ready in your refrigerator.
Ingredients:
2 bacon slices, center cut
1 ½ tablespoons cider vinegar
1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Salt
Directions:
Cook the bacon until it’s crispy and crumble it. Put the vinegar, sugar, mustard, salt pepper in the pan with the bacon drippings and whisk together. Put the bacon in and stir again.

Dream Salad Dressing
You know it’s good by the name. This dressing is perfect and you’re going to love its simple flavor. It’s also easy to make!
Ingredients:
½ cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon rosemary, dried
1 teaspoon basil, dried
1 teaspoon marjoram, dried
1 teaspoon dry mustard
3 pressed garlic cloves
Salt and pepper
1 cup vegetable oil
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients except the oil in a large bowl. Gradually whisk in the oil and pour into a dressing shaker. Chill overnight. Shake before serving.
