Fruit Salsa and cinnamon chips is one delish, low-cal fruit dessert recipe that you will love! And it's so easy to make. Combine diced apples, kiwi, and strawberry with 1 tablespoon orange juice and two tablespoons of apple jelly. To make the chips, cut up small flour tortillas into triangles, then paint them with a mixture of melted butter, cinnamon and sugar. Bake for about 10 minutes, then enjoy!
2 Whipped Fruit Dessert
Of all the fruit dessert recipes I've ever tried, this one is probably the most simple! All you need is a can of fruit cocktail and a package of pudding mix in the flavor of your choice. I love vanilla! Mix these two together until the pudding mix is dissolved. Then, whip in one container of lite cool whip and refrigerate for one hour before serving. Yum yum!
3 Yogurt Delight
Here is a unique and very tasty fruit dessert recipe that will leave you and your guests asking for seconds! You will need a package of jello. Prepare it according to directions and allow it to set. Next, put the jello into a blender with 3/4 cup plain yogurt. When blended, you can top with fresh fruit of your choice and either serve in a bowl, or place into a pie crust.
4 Fruit Plate
I love this interesting and yummy combo of fruit! Slice up bananas, peaches and throw in a handful of blueberries. Top with a spoonful of whipped topping, then sprinkle on cinnamon and a drizzle of chocolate. 5 Papaya Pucker
Papaya is one of my favorite fruits, so I consider this low calorie fruit dessert to be top-notch! Take a whole papaya and cube it. 6 Banana Bonker
If papaya isn't your thing, try this twist on one of my favorite fruit recipes! Instead of papaya, cut up a banana. Throw in a handful of grapes and almonds, and mix it all with a tablespoon or so of strawberry jam. You can top with whipped topping and chocolate sprinkles or syrup if you like!
When all else fails, go for a fruit smoothie! My favorite fruit smoothie calls for 1 cup of frozen strawberries, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 1/2 cups of milk. Throw it all in a blender until its blended and smooth. Enjoy with a meal or all by itself!
Low calorie fruit desserts can still have chocolate or peanut butter in them. You don't have to have fruit by itself in order for it to be "low calorie". Just try to cut back on the portion sizes.
