I have quite a thing for banana milkshake. (And if you wanna know a secret, I always have a tub of Nana Nesquik in the cupboard should I not have the ingredients/time for a fresh shake – yes I know! I sometimes think I never got past aged 7 in some of my tastes). But generally I love milkshakes. I like to think that the sheer effort of sucking up all that thick gooey loveliness negates the calories ingested ^_^ (I’ll keep telling myself that.) Here are some great milkshake recipes – some I’ve tried and some I can’t wait to try.
1. Deconstructed Ice Cream Sandwich Milkshake
Let’s be honest, is there anything more indulgent in the summer than getting your hands on a cold, delicious, ever so naughty ice cream sandwich? They have reached a level of popularity that means there a literally hundreds of different combinations nowadays, but when it comes to milkshake form, there is nothing better than a classic vanilla, chocolate and cookies recipe!
2. Everything but the Kitchen Sink Milkshake
Come on, it’s the summer, forget about calories for a second and give your body the sweet treat that it deserves! Filled with things like pretzel shards and leftover candy from the kitchen cupboard, this is essentially a milkshake that you will never forget, and one that you certainly will never have seen before today!
3. Rice Krispie Treat Milkshake
If you are looking for something a little more subtle but that still possesses a fun summer twist, then why not try this awesome Rice Krispie treat milkshake, a beverage that contains one of your very favorite childhood breakfast foods and brings it into the present in a fun and funky way.
4. Salted Caramel Popcorn Milkshake
I have to admit that my very greatest sweet tooth weakness is anything that includes the words salted caramel! The sweet and savory combination is completely irresistible to me, and mixed with a popcorn theme this milkshake is easily something I could knock back every single day. I won’t though; I know my limits!
5. Reese’s Peanut Butter Milkshake
Another of my great weaknesses is anything peanut butter and chocolate related, again, it’s something to do with the sweet and savory combo that I just cannot resist! Reese’s Cups are a worldwide favorite, and they have never tasted better than they do in this glorious milkshake.
6. Cake Batter Milkshake
Let’s be honest, the best part about making a cake for somebody is getting to lick the bowl and spoon before the completed cake is even out of the oven! Cake batter is pretty much everybody’s guilty pleasure, and this shake provides a slightly more classy way to enjoy it than licking the bowl!
7. Banana Cream Pie Milkshake
Banana is a classic ingredient in many deserts all across the world, but a more innovative way to enjoy a traditional banana cream pie is to have it in the form of a delicious milkshake! This recipe is pretty much the pinnacle for any sweet beverage of the banana-flavored variety.
8. Pumpkin Pie Milkshake
Sure, pumpkin is more of an autumn flavor traditionally, but that doesn’t mean that you have to wait it out and only get your pumpkin fix in Starbucks coffee when they decide it’s time! Treat yourself to this amazing pumpkin pie milkshake instead; you’ll forget all about pumpkin spice lattes!
9. S’mores Milkshake
S’mores are pretty much an iconic symbol of American pastimes, with images of camping out underneath the stars by a large fire coming to mind. Why not combine this image with another American classic, the milkshake, to create a slice of Americana unlike any other!
Can you guess which one is my favorite?
