1. Goji Berries

Goji Berries Gojis are rich in vitamin A, which make them one of the best skin-saving superfoods of all. They have more vitamin A than carrots or sweet potatoes, and are rich in amino acids. One serving a day of the berries or powder is all you need to reap the benefits of these tart little treats.

2. Chia Seeds

Chia Seeds Chia seeds contain skin-plumping and skin-clearing properties. They help prevent your skin from drying out and help reduce wrinkles; a dynamic duo for your skin. Chia's high omega 3 content also combats breakouts from inflammation to help keep acne at bay. Eat 2 tablespoons a day for the best benefits.

3. Acai Berries

Acai Berries Acai berries have more omega 3 fats than most fish, and they contain no sugar. This makes them fantastic for your skin and also your entire body. Use 1 pack of acai puree or 1 tablespoon of the powder a day to see results in just a week or two.

4. Spirulina

Spirulina This sea algae might not sound tasty, but it’s amazing for your skin. Spirulina has more antioxidants than any green vegetable on the planet. It’s also high in chlorophyll to keep your skin clear and it's high in protein to fight wrinkles. Use one teaspoon in your smoothie and if you need to mask the taste, use some stevia or a banana.

As part of taking control over your health and wellbeing, it's important to pay attention to the amount of sugar you consume daily. Did you ever wonder how many grams of sugar are in a teaspoon? Understanding this can help you make healthier choices and avoid those sneaky sugars that add up throughout the day. No doubt, your body will thank you!

5. Cacao

Cacao Cacao is my top skin superfood of all. Rich in sulfur, cacao helps fight toxins that lead to impurities and it helps prevent wrinkles. Cacao is also rich in iron to promote a healthy skin glow due to better circulation. Eat raw cacao, cocoa powder, or at least 90% cacao content dark chocolate for the best benefits.

6. Almonds

Almonds Rich in vitamin E, almonds are a great way to keep the wrinkles away in just a few bites! They also contain protein for healthy collagen formation, and are rich in mono-unsaturated fats that keep your skin pretty too.

7. Walnuts

Walnuts Walnuts are the highest source of omega 3 fats of all nuts, which helps prevent wrinkles and acne all in one. Walnuts are also rich in B vitamins, which are important for healthy skin cell turnover, and they're a decent source of protein as well.

8. Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin Seeds Pumpkin seeds are a top source of zinc, which is necessary for preventing wrinkles and acne. Pumpkin seeds are also alkaline-forming seeds, which means they help prevent inflammation. Eat raw and unsalted seeds for the best skin-saving option.

9. Greens Powder

Greens Powder A greens powder is my number one skin-saving superfood recommendation. Choose a greens powder that contains wheatgrass, chlorella, spirulina, and other nutrients like flax seeds and superfruits such as acai. My favorite brands are Amazing Grass and Bright Earth Superfoods, but there are many other options out there as well. Just avoid types with added sugars and fillers and you’ll be good to go!

Don’t forget that among all the superfoods for your skin, that leafy greens, veggies, low-sugar fruits, and lean protein are all great for your skin. What’s your favorite of all these superfoods and how do you use it each day?
