Stay Healthy with These Cereals Celebs Keep in Their Cabinets ...

Cereal is an American favorite when it comes to breakfast, but people in other countries enjoy it too. Where I shop, an entire aisle is devoted to cereal. The whole thing! Talk about a lot of choices. The trick to buying cereal is to be sure you choose one that is low in sugar and calories, but high in fiber and other important nutrients. That way you have a meal that complements your healthy lifestyle. Want to be like the big names in Hollywood? Here are the boxes of cereal you should pick up at the supermarket today.

Cheerios –Angelina Jolie

Cheerios –Angelina Jolie Maybe she loves this kid favorite because she has so many children of her own. Regardless, she makes a good choice because Cheerios are made with oats, which means they have a decent amount of fiber. They are also very low in sugar (unless you choose the frosted or Honey Nut variety). Top Cheerios with fruit and you have the perfect breakfast.

Rice Krispies – David Letterman

Rice Krispies – David Letterman No, they aren’t bran flakes, but they are also relatively low in sugar compared to many other choices. There are no marshmallows or weird colored bits added to Rice Krispies, which makes them a pretty healthy option if you can’t stomach bran or any other really bland tasting cereal. Plus, they snap, crackle and pop!

Corn Flakes – Patti LaBelle

Corn Flakes – Patti LaBelle She has a big voice, but she definitely prefers a healthy cereal choice. Corn flakes are usually beefed up with nutrients you need to stay healthy, including iron, B vitamins and more. Patti likes hers topped with freshly sliced strawberries. Try yours with any fruit you love or eat them plain. Either way, they taste delicious!

Khloe Kardashian – Kashi Go Lean

Khloe Kardashian – Kashi Go Lean This is a great pick if you’re trying to stay healthy! It’s fortified with lots of important vitamins and minerals and it has a great sweet taste without being loaded with sugar. It takes wonderful with a splash of milk, but is mild enough in flavor to work really well if you top it with blueberries, strawberries or sliced peaches. Yum!

Carly Rae Jepsen – Granola

Carly Rae Jepsen – Granola Here’s what’s so great about granola: you can eat it with milk or you can scatter it over a dish of yogurt. Carly Rae isn’t picky about her brand, but you should look for a granola that isn’t too high in sugar or calories. There are lots of options out there so experiment around to find the one you love best.

Kelly Osbourne – Raisin Bran

Kelly Osbourne – Raisin Bran While Raisin Bran is generally higher in sugar than many other types of cereal, it still makes a pretty good choice. It’s high in fiber and the raisins contribute antioxidants and other nutrients that are good for your health. Add skim milk and you have a pretty good breakfast. Need more proof? Oatmeal – Julia Roberts

Oatmeal – Julia Roberts Oatmeal isn’t cold cereal, but it definitely counts! Julia makes a really good choice because oatmeal is a whole grain, which means it’s loaded with fiber, protein, iron and B vitamins. On top of all that, it tastes wonderful too. Whether you like it plain or jazzed up with fresh fruit and brown sugar, oatmeal is an outstanding breakfast cereal that you will love eating in the morning.

What’s your favorite kind of cereal? Do you think it’s a healthy choice or not?

The bran with raisins and greek yogurt works for me

I agree with Claire... Because a celeb eats these doesn't mean they are healthy!!?!? No thanks ..full of sugars etc..

Just because celebrities eat them, that doesn't all of a sudden make them healthy! The majority of these are full of un needed sugars.

I vote corn flakes ;P

I agree 100% with @Claire.
