There are so many delicious foods for summer that'll keep you feeling healthy and satisfied. It's so easy to stock up on junk food during the summertime, but don't fall into that temptation! Turn away from the fast food and pick up some yummy fruits. You can hang pool side and munch on these snacks! Check out some of the yummiest and most nutritional foods for summer.

1. Watermelon

Watermelon If you ask me, there's nothing better than eating some watermelon! It's the perfect way to quench your thirst while you're hanging outside in the sun. In case you couldn't already tell by its name, watermelon is over 90% water. Therefore, it'll help keep you hydrated and keep your body cool! If you want, you can even freeze a couple of watermelon slices in your freezer before distributing them. SO yummy! Watermelon is just one of many yummy foods for summer.

2. Iced Coffee/tea

Iced Coffee/tea What better way to start your summer morning than with an iced pick-me-up? Whether you're a coffee drinker or a tea lover, you can add a couple of ice cubes to your cup! I don't know about you, but I love drinking everything COLD in the summertime! An iced coffee or tea is yummy and still nutritional - but remember, too much of anything can be bad!

3. Cherries

Cherries For some strange reason, I've only JUST made the realization that cherries are amazing! They also deliver tons of health benefits, including battling belly fat (source: sciencedaily.com). They're also a great topper for your occasional ice cream sundae!

4. Blueberries

Blueberries I could seriously munch on blueberries all day and night. Frozen ones are the best! Just throw some in a bowl and stick it in your freezer for a few hours. You'll thank me later! P.S. the antioxidants in blueberries help ward off any muscle fatigue you be feeling.

Grilled Chicken Kabobs Mmmm, grilled chicken kabobs are my absolute favorite! They're super easy to throw on the barbecue and are packed with protein but low in calories, fat, and carbs. Of course, you can add veggies to your kabobs too! I'd go with some zucchini or bell peppers - they'll add some delicious flavors and tons of antioxidants.

6. Grilled Veggies

Grilled Veggies A plate of grilled vegetables is a summertime must-have. Rack up a plate of grilled onions, bell peppers, zucchini, carrots, eggplant, asparagus, and garlic. You can use them to make tons of awesome and healthy dishes. Or, you could just eat them all right off the plate. What's your favorite grilled veggie?

7. Chilled Soups

Chilled Soups Cold soups are low-calorie dishes that still provide some serious yumminess! Chilled soups like gazpacho or cucumber-dill that contain lots of chunky vegetables are a great way to start a meal. The good thing about eating these soups at the beginning of a meal is that it'll fill you up. That way, you eat less at the meal. Are you a fan of chilled soups?
