1

Salsa

Salsa Salsa is one of the best Super Bowl foods you can eat, and you don’t have to have it with chips! You know those celery sticks sitting beside the buffalo wings that nobody eats? Pick up some of those and dip them in your salsa! It’s delish! Salsa is actually a natural fat burner. It’s low in fat, calories and sugar. It can be high in sodium, so try to stick to ½ cup just to be safe. If you want to bring your own, there are some delicious low sodium varieties out there, or you can make your own!

2

Chicken Tenders

Chicken Tenders Most chicken served at Super Bowl parties is fried, which is not what you want to look for. Those wings might look tasty, but they aren’t very healthy for you. If someone has chicken tenders available that are grilled, opt for those instead. Many people actually serve grilled tenders alongside buffalo wings.

3

Turkey Burgers

Turkey Burgers While I don’t eat meat myself, opting for a plain burger without the bun and dressing it up with some mustard or salsa is an easy meal that’s low in starch, moderate in fat and for one occasion, is better than eating the chips and dip all night. Just be sure to avoid the mayo, and opt for buffalo sauce instead. It has some sugar, but is a better alternative. Better yet, just go for plain hot sauce!

4

Crudites

Crudites Like I said, many people serves crudites such as celery, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots with ranch dressing alongside the buffalo wings. Most of the time, those precious veggies go untouched. Don’t let them go to waste and nosh on these with some form of protein. It’s a great way to fill you up and these foods are calorie free.

5

Spinach Artichoke Dip

Spinach Artichoke Dip One of the healthiest dips you can choose from is spinach and artichoke dip. Most store bought kinds are high in fat, so if you can, bring a dish yourself and use Greek yogurt in place of mayo in whatever recipe you use. It’s a great way to sneak in nutrition, and this is a delicious dip to eat alongside raw veggies, or even on chicken tenders.

Famous Quotes

Chili

Chili Many people also serve chili at Super Bowl parties and this is an excellent choice for your diet. If you don’t eat meat, it might be tough unless you bring a vegetarian form, but if you do eat meat, then you’re all set. Better yet, if you eat meat, bring a chili made from turkey meat instead, or offer to help the person giving the party cook some foods for the night. This won’t only give you safer options, but also help out the host too! Chili is overall low in calories and fat and very low in sugar, making it a much safer choice than the pizza or drumsticks!

7

Veggie Pizza

Veggie Pizza If you just can’t turn down pizza, opt for veggie pizza instead of meat varieties. You’ll save about 300 calories per serving by opting for veggie pizza over a meat-based pizza, and one that has a thin crust is a better choice too. Offer to bring one yourself and I bet you won’t be the only one who snaps it up!

8

Nuts

Nuts Most people serve both party mixes and nuts at Super Bowl parties. Always opt for the nuts and better yet, go with pistachios, or sunflower seeds over roasted peanuts. Almonds, cashews and walnuts are also fabulous! Nuts are high in fat, but very satisfying so you eat less. Eat a small handful and chances are, it will quell your appetite in a few minutes.

9

Guacamole

Guacamole Lastly, don’t shrug your nose at the green guac! It’s fabulous for you. Sure it’s high in fat, but it’s actually a fat-burning kind of fat, known as the monounsaturated kind. I like to eat guac with shrimp cocktail if they’re serving it as a complete meal, or just alone! Avocados are very filling and in a tasty dip like guac, sometimes a little celery to dip it with is really all you need.

The best tip I can give you to choose healthy Super Bowl foods is to be creative .Just because one thing isn’t paired with something else, doesn’t mean it can’t be. Mix and match the healthiest options there and come up with your own combinations. As you can see, bringing your own dish as a gesture is always a safe bet that you’ll have something you can eat too. If you have a favorite healthy SuperBowl food that you love, would you mind sharing it?
