10 Deliciously Easy Smoothie Recipes Using Greek Yogurt ...

As a Greek yogurt fanatic, one of my favorite ways to enjoy this amazing food is to make smoothies using Greek yogurt as the base and as a great source of protein and vitamins. Greek yogurt is quite possibly one of the best sources of fat-free animal protein, if you use nonfat of course, and it is also high in potassium, Vitamin B12, magnesium, calcium, amino acids, and is great for weight loss, digestion, immunity and of course, your taste buds! When added to a smoothie, Greek yogurt will give you the feeling you’re drinking a milkshake instead of an actual health drink! I’m all for that, what about you? Grab your blenders, a pretty little glass, and start making these smoothies using Greek yogurt! Summer is a great time to implement the cooling and slimming properties of this health food. I recommend using nonfat, plain organic Greek yogurt in all these smoothies so you get the full benefits of this amazing protein-rich food.

Basic Berry Protein Smoothie

Basic Berry Protein Smoothie One of the most popular types of smoothies using Greek yogurt is a smoothie made with berries. Berries bring out the natural sweetness in Greek yogurt, and using frozen berries gives it an icy edge. This protein smoothie is rich in antioxidants, fiber, and healthy fats. It is incredibly creamy, and it is a beautiful color! These ingredients can all be found at your supermarket, and are usually very affordable. This is a super-slimming recipe that is also great for your immunity, your digestion, and your heart. Drink up to being beautiful and healthy!

Ingredients:
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Cup Mixed Fresh or Frozen Berries
1/2 Cup Natural Plain Greek Yogurt
2 Tbsp Avocado (optional)
Handful of Ice Cubes
Dash of Stevia

Directions: Blend all the ingredients in the order listed.

2

Strawberry Orange Smoothie

Strawberry Orange Smoothie Don’t you all just love strawberries? The pretty red berries give smoothies a gorgeous pink color. In this smoothie the tartness of Greek yogurt and the citrus tang from oranges boost the sweetness of strawberries and make this an incredibly energizing and delicious breakfast. It is perfect if you’re a fan of the popular Sunrise smoothie recipes used in many restaurants and smoothie bars. If you don’t want to use soy milk, use my favorite milk, unsweetened almond milk instead. Coconut milk would also work great here!

Ingredients:
1 Cup Greek Yogurt
1 Cup Soy Milk
1 Small Orange
1/2 Cup Frozen Strawberries
1 Tbsp Agave Nectar (you can also use honey or a dash of stevia)
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Tbsp Bee Pollen( optional)

Directions: Blend all of the ingredients in the order listed.

3

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie A girl’s list of smoothies wouldn’t be complete without this favorite combination. Rich peanut butter, dark chocolate and sweet bananas are one of the most satisfying and indulgent flavor combinations on Earth, in my opinion! Greek yogurt gives this smoothie the creamy edge with a boost of protein to get you through your morning or afternoon. I also find this smoothie makes a great nighttime treat if you need a sweet fix. If you are allergic to peanut butter, use almond butter instead. Coconut butter would also be tasty here too!

Ingredients:
1 Cup Almond Milk
1 Banana
1 Tbsp Natural Peanut Butter
1 Tbsp Natural Cocoa Powder or raw cacao powder
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 Tsp Stevia
1 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Scoop Natural Protein Powder
Handful of Ice Cubes if desired

Directions: Blend all of the ingredients in the order listed.

Green Power Smoothie

Green Power Smoothie Alright, now this smoothie kicks things up a notch. Let’s not just make a smoothie healthy, how about we also make it a superfood smoothie? Spirulina is my favorite superfood, besides cacao of course. Spirulina is the most protein-rich source on Earth per tablespoon and contains over 70% of your daily Vitamin B12 requirements per tablespoon. It gives off a deep green color due to its high chlorophyll content, but with the other flavors in this smoothie you’ll never taste it. This smoothie is sweet, rich and creamy thanks to the Greek yogurt, and has your entire day’s requirements of iron, which keeps your energy levels up to prevent anemia and to aid in healthy red blood cell formation. Hemp protein powder is a wonderful source of complete plant protein and is easy to digest. Hemp seed protein is also rich in fiber, Omega 3 fatty acids, magnesium and zinc.

Ingredients:
1 Tsp Spirulina Powder
1 Scoop Hemp Protein Powder
1 Tbsp Flaxseed
1/2 Banana
1 Kiwi
1/2 Tsp Vanilla
Handful of Ice Cubes
1/3 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk

Directions: Blend all in the order listed.

5

Pina Colada Smoothie

Pina Colada Smoothie If you love this popular tropical flavor combination, how about trying it in a healthy smoothie? This recipe is high in enzymes, vitamins, healthy fats, and is incredibly creamy and delicious! This smoothie would be perfect on the beach when you’re tanning in your new swimsuit and need to cool off a bit with something tasty, healthy and refreshing!

Ingredients:
1 Cup Almond Milk
1 Cup Pineapple
1/2 Cup low fat Coconut Milk
1 Tsp Stevia
Handful of Ice Cubes
1 Tsp Vanilla
1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt

Directions: Blend all of the ingredients in the order listed.

Blueberry Maple Smoothie

Blueberry Maple Smoothie Maybe you’re like me and love using smoothies for breakfast. If so, this smoothie is such an awesome way to start your day! I love blueberry muffins and this smoothie is a wonderful replication of the amazing muffin flavor, and actually tastes quite similar. Luckily, this smoothie is also healthy, satisfying and so simple! If you want to avoid extra sugar, substitute the maple syrup for maple extract and use a dash of stevia instead to sweeten.

1 1/2 Cup Blueberries
1 Cup Almond Milk
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1/4 Tsp Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Low Fat Plain Greek Yogurt

Vanilla Blackberry Smoothie

Vanilla Blackberry Smoothie Alright, now this smoothie really excites me, ladies! I love vanilla for its exotic taste, along with its mood enhancing properties! Paired with blackberries, the flavor of vanilla is taken to a whole other level. Protein Frappe Smoothie

Protein Frappe Smoothie I’m a total fan of the Starbucks frappe, but I’m not a fan of the calories and sugar content! Pumpkin Pie Protein

Pumpkin Pie Protein Try this gorgeous, glowing smoothie that tastes like the refreshing flavors of fall season, though you can enjoy it anytime of the year! It is rich in Vitamin A, protein, fiber, potassium, and it is extremely low in sugar if you use stevia instead of agave. Chai Protein Smoothie

Chai Protein Smoothie I’m a huge fan of the grounding and energizing properties of chai flavors. Chai flavors also make a great addition to your protein shake if you need a break from the standard fruity or chocolate flavors. Try this protein-rich smoothie for breakfast, which is rich in antioxidants, and energizing ingredients. If you don’t have any chai tea already brewed on hand, then just open up a chai tea bag and toss it in, then add in 1 extra cup of almond milk or water.

Ingredients:
1 Cup Pre-Brewed Chai Tea Cooled
1/2 Cup Almond Milk
1 Scoop Natural Protein Powder
1 Tsp Vanilla
