1. Bread
Bread is one of those foods that don’t need to be refrigerated. If you don’t like hard bread, then simply don’t keep it in the fridge. If you want your bread to stay soft and flavorful, then just store it at room temperature, because even if your refrigerator keeps your bread from getting moldy, it will also dry it out. Just store your bread in a paper bag or simply wrap it in a cloth towel and keep in a bread box.
2. Tomatoes
Most fruits and vegetables prefer to be stored at higher temperatures and tomatoes are one of them. Refrigeration can compromise the flavor of tomatoes and it can also make them get a bit too mushy. Farm-fresh tomatoes can be left out on the counter for a week or so but keep in mind that the riper the tomatoes are when you buy them, the shorter the period they’ll last out of the refrigerator.
3. Herbs
Some herbs are better off when left out of the fridge. You can simply put them in a glass of water on the counter. For example, basil is susceptible to wilting and damage from the cold, so it’s best to not keep it in the refrigerator. Also, there are herbs, like cilantro, which prefer being stored in a glass of water in the fridge; just remember to keep them in water because otherwise, they would wilt.
4. Honey
Honey is also one of those foods that does better when left out of the refrigerator. Honey has actually a lot of wonderful qualities that make it an amazing preservative. You can keep it out of the fridge for as long as you like. In fact, refrigeration causes it to form crystals, so if you don’t like crunchy honey, just keep it in the pantry.
As part of taking control over your health and wellbeing, it's important to pay attention to the amount of sugar you consume daily. Did you ever wonder how many grams of sugar are in a teaspoon? Understanding this can help you make healthier choices and avoid those sneaky sugars that add up throughout the day. No doubt, your body will thank you!
5. Hot Sauce
You don’t have to keep hot sauce or any other vinegar-based sauce in the refrigerator because the cold can affect the heath and the viscosity of the sauce. Just store them in your pantry or on the counter.

6. Coffee
There are a lot of people who like to store coffee grounds or beans in their refrigerator. If you are one of them, then I must tell you that you are actually doing your coffee a disservice because condensation can affect the coffee beans and it can cause them to lose their beautiful roasty flavor.
7. Bananas
For many fruits like avocado or bananas, the cold will inhibit ripening. In the refrigerator, bananas will remain unripe and their skin will become a sickly deep brown and that’s why, it’s best to keep them in your pantry or on the counter.
There are a lot of foods like onion, garlic, melons or potatoes that will do better left out of the refrigerator. I just mentioned a few but there are a lot more I could add to this list. Do you know any other foods that don’t need to be refrigerated? Please tell us about them in the comments section!
