There are so many options when it comes to seasonings for roasted pumpkin seeds. Now is the time of the year to roast some of those seeds too. After you carve your jack-o-lanterns rinse the goop from your seeds and dry them out. Then all you have to do is season and roast the seeds. There are many seasonings for roasted pumpkin seeds that go beyond the plain old salt you’re probably used to. Check out these yummy options.

1. Seasoned Salt

If you like the saltiness of seeds, one of the tastiest seasonings for roasted pumpkin seeds is a variation called seasoned salt. This type of salt has a bit of flavor added so you get more than just plain salt. You won’t need much either because the flavor is enough to keep you from dousing your seeds. If you love salted seeds, you will love seasoned salt flavored ones.

2. Cinnamon and Sugar

Do you love toast with cinnamon and sugar? It was always one of my favorite childhood snacks. You can recreate that yummy flavor when you roast pumpkin seeds. Maybe you’re used to the traditional savory taste, but seeds are a great food for making sweet treats too. Simply toss your pumpkin seeds with a dash of white sugar and a pinch of cinnamon before roasting them.

3. Spicy

Do you like foods with a little bit of spice? Me too! It turns out that spicy pumpkin seeds are a treat you are not going to be able to stop eating. To make them, toss the seeds with butter or oil then season them liberally with cayenne pepper, chili powder and salt. Roast them and enjoy. Don’t forget to keep a glass of water on hand.

4. Tangy Pickle

Have you ever tried dill pickle flavored sunflower seeds or potato chips? If you love them, you will love this seasoning for your roasted pumpkin seeds. Before you pop your seeds into the oven, sprinkle them with kosher salt and dried dill. Go easy on both or the seeds are going to be way too overpowering. Yum!

For that sweet and smoky taste of your favorite barbecue, try this recipe on your pumpkin seeds. Choose a powdered barbecue flavoring at the grocery store or mix up your own. Then spritz your seeds with cooking spray or olive oil and then season them with salt. Next, toss the seeds with the barbecue seasonings and roast them. You are going to have a hard time not eating the whole batch at one time.

7. Pumpkin Pie

What better seasoning for roasted pumpkin seeds than pumpkin pie? Create a snack that is reminiscent of your favorite dessert. Kids will love this version and so will all the adults in your life. To make them, combine ground nutmeg, ground allspice, ground nutmeg and sugar and toss your seeds with butter then the seasoning. Tasty!
