Pizza on the grill sounds pretty strange, doesn’t it? It's one of the easiest foods that can be cooked on the grill. My son suggested it while we planned a camping trip menu and I was pleasantly surprised to find a bunch of easy recipes for getting it done. First, you’ll cook the dough by spreading it on a large piece of oiled foil or a griddle pan. Once it’s crispy and golden, pile on your favorite toppings and return it to the grill for a couple more minutes. I like spinach, fresh mozzarella and chopped tomatoes on mine.
Yes, it will fall through the grill rack if you aren’t careful, but don’t let that scare you away from putting it out there. Simply wrap each piece in a strip of aluminum foil first. Grease it lightly to prevent sticking, then lay the fillet on the foil and season it with your favorite herbs and spices. Wrap the foil around the fish and grill it for five to ten minutes, or until it’s cooked through.
If you’re looking for a new side dish, this is the idea for you. Cut an avocado in half, peel it, and remove the pit. Sprinkle each half with salt and pepper and grill it for a couple of minutes on the cut side. Flip the avocados over, fill the cavity on each half with chopped tomatoes, jalapenos and onions. Sprinkle with cheese and grill for a minute or two more. Serve the avocados with steak, pork chops or fish.
You read that right! If you only eat lettuce in salad, you’re missing out on this yummy idea. Quarter a head of romaine or similar lettuce, brush it with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and grill for a few minutes on each side. Serve the grilled lettuce with sliced red onions, crispy crumbled bacon and a bit of ranch dressing. I want this for dinner tonight!
Cooked fruit isn’t as weird as it sounds. It makes a great dessert! Grill halved bananas and top them with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Grilled pineapple or peaches taste great on fruity ice creams. Grilled berries taste yummy over angel food cake or a huge brownie.

To make popcorn on the grill all you need is a foil baking pan and a couple pieces of aluminum foil. Combine popcorn kernels with oil in the pan and make a tent over the top with the foil. Place the container on the grill for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the popping stops. Season the popcorn with butter and salt and enjoy it on the back porch.
