Sure it’s great to be able to splurge occasionally and buy these directly from your local Starbucks or other favorite coffee house, but those drinks add up to major dollars, and often calories, fast! Skinny Peppermint Chocolate Mocha

Much like the Starbucks coffee house recipes, my version is called a "skinny" because it has no sugar and less calories than milks traditionally used in mocha drinks.
Ingredients:
1½ cups of brewed coffee
2 tbsp. dark cocoa powder or regular cocoa powder (unsweetened kind used for baking such as Hershey’s brand)

½ cup unsweetened almond milk, or you can use your favorite low calorie milk
1/8tsp. pure peppermint extract
¼ tsp. pure stevia extract (or you can use 1 packet or 2 droppers full of liquid) – I like NuNaturals brand
Directions:
Pour your brewed coffee into a mug and add the remaining ingredients. Stir very well to incorporate.

Almond Joy Frappuccino

If you’re a fan of the popular candy bar, you will love this authentic drink for a purely divine flavor and taste, without the added calories or sugars.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups of brewed coffee (freeze in ice cubes the night before or at least 2 hours before) *See tip below*
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp. dark unsweetened cocoa powder such as Hershey’s
2 tbsp. pure shredded coconut
1 tbsp. raw coconut oil
1/8 tsp. almond extract
¼ tsp. pure stevia extract (or you can use 1 packet or 2 droppers full of liquid) – I like NuNaturals brand

*TIP* I like to brew a pot of coffee and freeze into ice cube trays to keep on hand all the time. This makes this a great deal easier to make on a whim. You will need about 10 ice cubes to equal the 1 ½ cups amount of brewed coffee.
Directions:
In a high powered blender, add all the ingredients until smooth and thick. This will be much like a creamy milkshake. Feel free to add a dollop of fat free whipped cream or sugar free chocolate syrup. I simply like to enjoy it all on its own.

Gingerbread Latte

If you’re a fan of the Starbucks seasonal Gingerbread Latte, you will love this! Enjoy anytime of the year. I personally find it refreshing when in need of a real pick-me-up. It is essentially cozy and energizing in times of stress or a busy workday!
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup brewed coffee
1/2 tsp. powdered ginger
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. pure vanilla extract
¼ tsp. pure stevia extract (or you can use 1 packet or 2 droppers full of liquid) – I like NuNaturals brand
Directions:
1) Warm the almond milk first. I like to simply add the almond milk to an empty coffee pot and turn the machine on without adding any water for brewing.

2) Leave the almond milk in the pot on the warmer for about 5 minutes to warm it up. Then, add the water, and place your coffee grounds into the machine to brew your coffee as normal. This will naturally warm the milk and brew your coffee directly into the milk without a bunch of unnecessary work by heating milk on a stovetop or microwave.

3) After the coffee brews, pour the coffee/almond milk mixture in the pot into a large mug or travel mug if you’re taking to go.
4) Stir in the remaining ingredients and enjoy!

5

Skinny Coffee Protein Shake

While plain coffee drinks are good, here is one I’ve created for a protein boost! This makes it a great addition to breakfast without unnecessary sugars or calories. While this may not be in most trendy coffee houses, it does feature all the same flavors as many coffee house drinks.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups brewed coffee, cooled
¼ cup unsweetened almond milk or skim milk
½ cup organic plain Greek yogurt
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 ice cubes
¼ tsp. pure stevia extract (or you can use 1 packet or 2 droppers full of liquid) – I like NuNaturals brand
Directions:
Add all the ingredients in the order listed to a high powered blender and blend until a thick consistency is reached (about 10 seconds).

5

Green Tea Frappuccino

I love a twist on traditional coffee recipes, and this one has it! Featuring green tea instead of coffee, this creamy delight is perfect when in need of something other than java.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups unsweetened almond milk or skim milk
Contents of one organic green tea bag
¼ tsp. pure stevia extract (or you can use 1 packet or 2 droppers full of liquid) – I like NuNaturals brand
1/8 tsp. pure vanilla extract
10 ice cubes
Directions:
Add all the ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend on high until a thick consistency is reached (about 10 seconds).

1/16th tsp. pink Himilayan sea salt or you can omit for a plain caramel taste
¼ tsp. pure stevia extract (or you can use 1 packet or 2 droppers full of liquid) – I like NuNaturals brand
Directions:
1) Pour the brewed coffee into a mug and add the remaining ingredients, then stir well to incorporate and enjoy.

Iced Mocha Frappuccino

An easy coffee house recipe to make at home for beginners, this recipe is a great go-to in summer when you need a chilling refreshment.

I can't wait to try these!

I like to make coffee milkshakes.. They're just as simple (if not more simple) than these recipes, but they aren't anywhere near low-cal! Haha! I just mix ice cream of my preferred flavor, milk, fresh brewed coffee, chocolate or caramel syrup, and sometimes, if I'm in real need of a big pick me up, I add some instant coffee granules. Mix it all together in a blender, and tah-dah! Delish! :) I can't wait to try some of these recipes! They sound pretty good!
