1. Banana Peanut Butter Wrap
Whether you’re trying to eat healthier or are simply in search of a quick yet delicious snack, banana peanut butter wraps will instantly become your favorite dorm room recipe. Simply grab a tortilla, spread a layer of peanut butter on it, slice a banana on top, and then roll the tortilla into a wrap. It’s one of my favorite dorm recipes because it's easy, filling, and delicious!
2. Apples and Peanut Butter with a Twist
Apples and peanut butter are a tried and true favorite from the preschool days. However, now that you’re in college, it’s time for an update. After you spread the peanut butter on your apple, dip the peanut butter in granola. It adds a nice sweetness, crunch, and all-around new flavor that I’m sure you’ll love!

3. Microwave Sweet Potato Chips
Everyone loves sweet potato chips, but they’re not always conducive to a college budget. Slice your sweet potatoes, season to your liking, and then microwave for at least four minutes, checking for the perfect crunch every thirty seconds or so. Recipes that only require a microwave are so perfect, especially when you’re living in a dorm without a kitchen!
4. Frozen Fruit Salads
Fruit salad is another classic, however, it can be hard to find the time to make a fruit salad when you’re running to and from classes. That being said, this idea changes that. Make however many fruit salads you want for the week in one day, and then freeze them until you need them. Because they’re frozen, you can bring them around with you to class and everything!
5. Pita Pizza
Pizza lovers rejoice! I've devised a healthier solution to the greasy cafeteria pizza! Lay a pita on a plate, spread tomato sauce, cheese, and any other toppings on your pizza, and microwave until everything is melted the way you like it. It’s a quick recipe that will save you a trip to the cafeteria, but it will also save you from the calories that come along with cafeteria pizza!
6. Cake in a Mug
At this point, everyone’s come across “cake in a mug” recipes in some corner of the Internet or another (hello, Pinterest!). Find your favorite recipe, and keep the ingredients on hand for the days you have a sweet tooth craving that you just can’t get rid of!
7. Greek Yogurt Chocolate Truffles
This is my personal favorite find. Mix together one part Greek yogurt, four parts cocoa powder, five parts powdered skim milk, two egg yolks, and some artificial sweetener. Set aside the mixture in your fridge for a few hours, then come back, roll into balls, and then roll the balls into cocoa powder. It’s a little bit more time-consuming, but the result is so delicious that you must try it at least once!
