I am always up for new weekend breakfast ideas. I do not cook breakfast during the week because I deal with the same morning rush most moms deal with, but I do cook breakfast on many weekend days. These are the weekend breakfast ideas that my family seems to love the most.

1. Omelets and Toast

Omelets and Toast One of our favorite weekend breakfast ideas is omelets and toast. They are so easy to fix and everyone loves them. One of the great things about omelets is that they are so easy to individualize with different toppings. Add in several different cheeses or go for a healthier veggie omelet by adding in things like mushrooms, broccoli and olives. You can even go a bit off the beaten path and add in pepperoni , banana peppers and other selections.

2. Pancakes and Bacon

Pancakes and Bacon Pancakes and bacon is a breakfast that will stick with you for hours. I love it for this reason, plus the sweet treat it delivers. My kids love to add in chocolate chips and white chocolate chips when we have pancakes. I would prefer blueberries in mine or even make them with pumpkin or banana in the batter to flavor them. If you want to save on sugar consumption, you can always use light pancake syrup like I do, or even a sugar free one.

3. Fruit Salad

Fruit Salad Fruit salad goes over wonderfully at our house any time. This includes breakfast. It is a nice, light start to the day. If you want a protein boost you can pair it with a cup of yogurt. I put many different kinds of fruit in our fruit salad but you can tailor it to your specific tastes.

4. Muffins

Muffins Muffins are always a hit, too. There are many, many different kinds of muffins that you can fix for yourself or your family. Some of our family favorites are blueberry, chocolate chip and banana nut. There are many other recipes though. I would also like to try strawberry, oatmeal and pumpkin.

5. A Country Breakfast

A Country Breakfast Let me explain what our family calls a country breakfast. A country breakfast consists of biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon or sausage and fried apples. Hash browns are optional to add in, too. This is probably the favorite of the whole family. This is another stick to your ribs meal. It isn’t the healthiest option for breakfast but is a nice treat every once in a while.

6. A Breakfast Casserole

A Breakfast Casserole Breakfast casseroles are nice and usually have leftovers, which is great. One thing I love about many breakfast casseroles is that you can prepare them the night before and simply pop them in the oven the next morning. A lot of times they are an all-in-one dish. This is also a great dish to bring when you are invited to breakfast or brunch get-togethers. It is a sure crowd pleaser.

7. Donuts and Chocolate Milk

Donuts and Chocolate Milk There is absolutely no cooking involved in this weekend breakfast idea. There is also no health value, either. But the taste quotient is through the roof. It is something most everyone will love. I honestly don’t know that I have ever met anyone who doesn’t love donuts.
