Your period can ruin your sleep cycle, give you unbearable cramps, and alter your mood. Even though you can't stop Mother Nature from visiting you, you can do a few things to make your time of the month run smoothly. If you put the right foods into your body, you can reduce all of your annoying symptoms. In order to help you out, here are the period superfoods that will make your time of the month more bearable.

1. Fish

2. Bananas

Not only will they help you get a good night’s rest, but they also contain vitimans that will help boost your mood. So if you're always upset or angry, grab a bunch of bananas to calm down.

Broccoli You should always eat your greens. However, during your period, broccoli is extra important. It can ease bloating, which means it'll give you more confidence and a happy stomach.

4. Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin Seeds Pumpkin seeds are high in magnesium, which means that they can actually help you with your mood swings. Of course, you don't have to stick to eating them during that time of the month. Any time that you're feeling anxious or depressed, foods high in magnesium can help. Other examples are peanuts, brown rice, almonds, and avocados.

7. Dark Chocolate

Water We all know how important water is for our survival. However, it's especially important to drink it while you're on your period. Water retention is what causes cramps, and a way to relieve that pain is actually by drinking more water.

9. Pineapple

Pineapple If you're in the mood for something sweet, try eating some pineapple slices. It's high in bromelain, which is meant to reduce your cramps. So if you aren't in the mood to pop an Advil, you can replace the medication with a few pieces of delicious pineapple.
