1. Berries
Berries are one of the easiest ways to flavor your water. Simply toss some in the bottom of a glass or water bottle and squish them a little with the back of a spoon. Add ice and water and you’re set with a refreshing drink that’ll make it feel like summertime anytime. Try strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or cherries. Or, go really crazy and mix them all or just a couple for new and exciting flavors all the time.
2. Watermelon
Watermelon is largely water, so it’s perfect for giving your beverage a really yummy flavor. Simply squeeze a wedge of watermelon over your glass, then toss in some bits of fruit. It’s sort of like juice, but without all the sugar and calories. Sip this during your next workout and I promise it won’t be so dreadful.
3. Cucumber
Cucumbers are crisp and refreshing, so they pair really well with a cold drink of water. Simply slice a cucumber and toss a couple pieces into your water. You can also fill a large pitcher with ice and water and put an entire sliced cucumber in. What an awesome way to serve water at a party without sacrificing your need for a great presentation.
4. Lemons and Limes
If you like lemon-lime soda, but are trying to cut back on it, this is a great alternative. Cut a lemon and a lime into wedges or slices. Give each a quick squeeze, then toss the pieces into the water. One of each is enough to get you through several glasses of water. Put lemon and lime into your water bottle and take it to work with you. Getting your water quota each day just got easier.
As part of taking control over your health and wellbeing, it's important to pay attention to the amount of sugar you consume daily. Did you ever wonder how many grams of sugar are in a teaspoon? Understanding this can help you make healthier choices and avoid those sneaky sugars that add up throughout the day. No doubt, your body will thank you!
5. Kiwi
Not only do kiwis contain a load of vitamin C, but they’re tart, sweet and juicy, so they work really well in water. Peel a kiwi, cut it into chunks and toss a couple in every glass of water you drink. Make sure you keep the extra in an airtight container so they don’t get gross and slimy until you pour your next drink.
6. Apples
I love a really crisp, cold apple so what better way to make water more exciting than to add a couple slices to my drink. I especially love green apples. And water is perfect for keeping apples from browning. Fill a tall pitcher with water, add a sliced apple or two and refrigerate. You’re set with a delicious glass of water anytime you get thirsty. Mix red and green apples for a great presentation at a gathering or backyard barbecue.
7. Pineapple
There’s nothing like a fresh pineapple. Use it to jazz up your water and you’ll believe me! Simply peel and core the pineapple then cut it into chunks. Add a few to water and save the rest for breakfast with yogurt and granola. Close your eyes and I guarantee you’ll feel like you’re in the tropics.
Do you get tired of drinking water? Is this list making you want to run to the sink and fill a glass?
